Accreditation scheme master classes

We have an unmatched capability in relation to the Federal Safety Commission (FSC) Accreditation Scheme. We draw upon our extensive experience in audit and assurance activities and 29 years of health and safety experience in the construction, civil and domestic building sectors .

AusSafe’s Managing Partner was one of the first Federal Safety Officers (FSOs) appointed under Fair Work Building Industry Act 2012 (Commonwealth) and has performed FSO duties for more than nine years, in addition to providing technical advice to the OFSC. A further seven (7) AusSafe consultants are Federal Safety Commissioner appointed FSO's, significantly more than in any other organisation.

AusSafe is in a unique position to provide a broad offering to companies who wish to maintain Scheme accreditation and to constructors seeking to achieve Scheme accreditation. A number of our consultants have advanced knowledge and application of the FSC audit criteria and have assisted and advised many companies with significant change programs to achieve accreditation.

Our experiences include:

  • providing full accreditation scheme support, systems design development and site level implementation advice for offshore construction companies seeking Australian market entry;

  • assisting clients onsite and in preparation for Scheme application or maintenance audits;

  • reviewing Federal Safety Commission audit reports and developing action plans to ensure effective close out of corrective actions;

  • undertaking desktop reviews of company health and safety management systems and plans against the requirements of the FSC Management System, Scheme and Hazard Criteria;

  • developing heath and safety management systems and site-specific plans to comply with the FSC Management System, Scheme and Hazard Criteria;

  • undertaking mock audits to prepare projects and identify compliance with FSC Management System, Scheme and Hazard Criteria;

  • providing advice and interpretation on compliance with the FSC Management System, Scheme and Hazard Criteria;

  • implementing company’s health and safety management systems to achieve compliance with the accreditation scheme criteria;

  • training staff and workers in the implementation of the health and safety management system and the requirements of the accreditation scheme; and

  • facilitating Safety in Design and constructability reviews.
